WOYWW #207

 I didn't think I would be able to join WOYWW but I managed to find some time to create this afternoon.  I think this is the latest I have ever join, I will probably have the last spot but as my Mom always said last is first so it all works, lol!

Here is my desk/table, I got out lots of supplies today, Gesso, stamps, makers, beautiful butterflies embossing folder, gems, pearls, ribbon, ribbon punch, stencils, ink spray and more.

 

 

 

Here are the cards I made!

First of all I painted Gesso on the Patterned Paper, then sprayed it with a ink spray and stencil.

After I dried the Gesso and ink I stamped the flower and colored it with a Rich Razzleberry marker

Because the Gesso kept the ink wet longer, I was able to use a blender pen and lighten around the edges.  After the ink dried I smeared Gesso on the card, note to self, SU markers are not waterproof and the purple did smear some when I added the Gesso.

Just can't leave it alone!

I just couldn't leave this card alone, I didn't hate it but I didn't like it enough to give to my mother-in-law.  So I tweaked it a little and now I like it enough to give away.  So I trimmed it and distressed the edges, then mounted it on Island indigo, added some gel pen around the edges, some pearls and a rose and that was it; much better!

New Stencils!

My friend, Paula, made me this stencil on her silhouette, how fun is that!

I used it with my newly purchased White Gesso and it worked perfectly!

I am too excited about all the other ones Paula is making me,

if she didn't live 3 minutes down the road I would be tempted to buy a silhouette machine . 

To do the stamped image of, Mom, I smeared Gesso and let it dry a bit then stamped right into it.

For this card I used a chicken wire stencil and it didn't work as well but I am still pleased!

 

 

Card using Retiring colors!

I love using the modeling paste!  Sorry for not taking pictures during the process but I was having too much fun to stop.  I will take pictures on future cards, I promise!  For this card I used 2 of the retiring colors, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery.  Also, you will notice that the Paste in the corner is blue, to do this, I mixed some Bashful Blue ink refill, in with the paste, before I put it on the card.  Yesterday I spent a lot of money at Micheals, on Stencils and then today I didn't even use them.  I made the stencil using a piece of card stock and the Dollie Sizzlet.  I also just used my palate knife and smeared some paste around randomly.  I am very excited to incorporate the sewing machine into this card, I am usually too lazy to get it out!

Snow day!

I thought spring was coming but it has been snowing for two days.  So instead of being sad, we are going to have a snowmobile party; hopefully the last one of the season!! 
So another flower and butterfly card in the hopes of spring.

Family Time!

We had a wonderful visit with Dad and his new wife Cathie, she is a beautiful woman of God!!  Enjoyed ever moment of our visit but I have to say I was a little happy this morning when I knew I could stamp again!  You know your addicted when....!  Actually I think I have a bit of Adrenal Fatigue, just from the high stress in recent months!  One of the things that they suggest for treatment / healing, is doing something every day that makes you happy!  Well that made me happy because making cards makes me very happy and I like to do at least one a day!!  Scarpbooking is also very rewarding but it requires a bit more energy and commitment, than making a card.

 

This card was fun, I started it and thought, what am I doing, it is so ugly but I kept adding stuff and it turned out good, it should make a friend happy on her birthday!!!

Vintage beauty!

 

 

I love the color combination in this card, Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive, and Pool Party.  The Ribbon on the left is normally flat but I melted it with the heat gun to get this rippled effect, adds a bit of texture to the card.  The Flower was made by Punching out 3 flowers 2 with the blossom punch and 1 with Fancy Flower punch. You could do 3 out of the same punch, I just wanted the centre flower to be a bit smaller.  You Take all 3 Flowers and spray them with water and then Scrunched them up into 3 balls.  After a few minutes open the flowers and shape them the way you want.  The flowers will dry and keep this shape, even if they are squished in an envelope.  I think the rest is straight forward.  don't be afraid to leave a comment if you have a question!
