Birthday Anyone?

 

This card was all from a desire to use Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise together.  One thing I have a problem with is the Paper Doily Sizzlits, half of the Card Stock usually comes out not cut completely.  To fix this problem you need to make it tighter, so I added a piece of card stock to the outside of the sandwich.

I love the color combination in this card, Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive, and Pool Party.  The Ribbon on the left is normally flat but I melted it with the heat gun to get this rippled effect, adds a bit of texture to the card.  The Flower was made by Punching out 3 flowers 2 with the blossom punch and 1 with Fancy Flower punch. You could do 3 out of the same punch, I just wanted the centre flower to be a bit smaller.  You Take all 3 Flowers and spray them with water and then Scrunched them up into 3 balls.  After a few minutes open the flowers and shape them the way you want.  The flowers will dry and keep this shape, even if they are squished in an envelope.  I think the rest is straight forward.  don't be afraid to leave a comment if you have a question!

The Simple things in life

 

Making cards for me is a great stress reliever!  The Last 6 months have been some of the worst of my life and my Mother heart has been torn, crushed, and several other descriptive words!  The wonderful thing about making cards is you don't think about anything when you are creating except, what color, what stamp set, you know what I mean.  There is just something so satisfying about a finished creation!

So Much to be thankful for today!!!  For one the Sun is out, and spring will be right around the corner!

For this card I want to highlight the background card stock, Island Indigo, it is one of the, 2011-2013 in color's.  I don't know why I have never used it before now but now that I am I love it!!  So far I just have the card stock, so I will have to order the ink before June.  Saying that, brings me to, how I stamped the background without the Island Indigo ink.  Well I used my favorite ink, Versa Mark!

 

 

Not only can you emboss with Versa Mark but it leaves a watermark on any colored card stock.
