Window sheet card!

I haven't used window sheets for a long time, I don't know why because I love the effect.
You put the paper on top of the window sheet inside and on the top otherwise you would see the glue.
I love making matching envelopes makes the card even more special.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Playing with clay!

This card was fun, I have been wanting to try the clay that I bought from the new SU catty!
The clay started of white and I added island indigo refill ink, you need to wear gloves while you knead the clay or you will look like a smurf!
The DS paper, ribbon and twine, I got from the clearance rack really cheap, so that always makes me happy!

WOYWW #208

It is a rainy Wednesday here in Saskatchewan, I didn't think that I would be able to join the fun today but due to the lovely rain, Track and Field was cancelled, woohoo a crafting day!
Here are two cards that I have been working on, the one on the right is finished and the one on the left is waiting for the clay buttons to dry.
This is my first time using the clay, so we shall see how it turns out, I have no idea what the drying time is.
I also pulled out my diagonal embossing template to make matching envelopes.
I will post a close up of all the cards I made later in the day.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
This is the 4th anniversary for WOYWW, go and check out other desks around the world at

WOYWW #207

I didn't think I would be able to join WOYWW but I managed to find some time to create this afternoon.  I think this is the latest I have ever join, I will probably have the last spot but as my Mom always said last is first so it all works, lol!
If you have no clue what I am talking about, hop over to Stamping Ground Julia will explain everything.
Here is my desk/table, I got out lots of supplies today, Gesso, stamps, makers, beautiful butterflies embossing folder, gems, pearls, ribbon, ribbon punch, stencils, ink spray and more.

Here are the cards I made!
First of all I painted Gesso on the Patterned Paper, then sprayed it with a ink spray and stencil.
After I dried the Gesso and ink I stamped the flower and colored it with a Rich Razzleberry marker
Because the Gesso kept the ink wet longer, I was able to use a blender pen and lighten around the edges.  After the ink dried I smeared Gesso on the card, note to self, SU markers are not waterproof and the purple did smear some when I added the Gesso.
Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Happy !6th Birthday!!

My DD is turning 16 tomorrow!
She is a photographer and loves instagram so I made a card replicating the instagram icon.
Here is my beautiful girl!
She was so feisty when she was little that I was scared about her teen years but
I have to say she is a pure joy, still feisty but mostly in a good way.
She is strong in her convictions and has a heart of compassion, I am so proud of her!!

Best Gluten Free bread EVER!!!

Bold statement I know but trust me this bread is the best and I made it, woohoo!  I have tried A lot of Gluten free breads and this recipe beats them all.
I have never before put food on my blog but I just had to share.
I am not even going to try to tell you the recipe because Angie does an amazing job of it

Just can't leave it alone!

I just couldn't leave this card alone, I didn't hate it but I didn't like it enough to give to my mother-in-law.  So I tweaked it a little and now I like it enough to give away.  So I trimmed it and distressed the edges, then mounted it on Island indigo, added some gel pen around the edges, some pearls and a rose and that was it; much better!

Ventured outside to paint

I had an idea as I was walking around our yard today, I saw some boards laying on the ground
and thought, I could paint them.
Hopefully DH doesn't mind that I stole the boards for the fence, he would never fix it anyways, right?
So I nailed a few boards to the back to hold it together, not the sturdiest but it will work.
I sanded the boards a bit and then covered them with Gesso.
Then I took my paints and painted right there on my porch, it is so nice outside,
except for the fierce wind.
I have paint all over the ends of my hair from the wind blowing it into my paint, lol!
I will let it dry for a day and then seal it with an outdoor varnish.
Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment, it makes my day!

WOYWW #205

Once again my project was too big for the desk so I am camped out on the kitchen table.
I took the picture so you could see my view while I craft,
I watch the geese, ducks and various other birds; so peaceful!
I have my paints out again this week.
You can't tell very good from this picture but
the bubbles have a layer of crystal effects so they are shiny.
I used modeling paste for the butterfly canvas and the sunflower.
Here they are hanging above my bed, love them!
Thanks for stopping by!

I am now off to look at all your desks, Have a great week!

New Stencils!

My friend, Paula, made me this stencil on her silhouette, how fun is that!
I used it with my newly purchased White Gesso and it worked perfectly!
I am too excited about all the other ones Paula is making me,
if she didn't live 3 minutes down the road I would be tempted to buy a silhouette machine .
To do the stamped image of, Mom, I smeared Gesso and let it dry a bit then stamped right into it.
For this card I used a chicken wire stencil and it didn't work as well but I am still pleased!

Beauty

Today I did on canvas what I have been doing in my journal.
I love mixed media, you just keep adding stuff, texture, paint, until you like it.
I think I am going to do a series of girl beauty and hang them in my room
near my vanity table; it's a good reminder to start my day.

Baby cards

I just got back from the baby shower and the card was well liked!
The card was very easy to make and probably self explanatory.
I used 2 circle punches The 1 1/4" on the bottom and the 1 3/4" on the top.
For the front pocket I just eyeballed it and cut with scissors.
For the straps I used the rounded corner punch.
I stamped the saying in white but you really couldn't see it very well so I embossed it with white.
To finish the card off I used a white gel pen to do the faux stitches.
Thanks for stopping by!

WOYWW #204

Well my desk/table doesn't look much different then last week, just a bigger version of the same.
I took the plunge, this large canvas has been very intimidating to me.
My hubby said, "just paint over it if you don't like" which sounds fine and good
but I hate redoing!
Just to clarify because I have had lots of comments and it makes my hubby look bad, lol!
To encourage me to start he said, "just paint over it if you don't like it", not after I had finished.
I love her, sure there are a few things that I would do differently but I would not redo for sure!
Here she is hanging on the living room wall.
I am sure over the weeks I will probably take her down and add a few touches here and there.
I wanted the background to look somewhat like fire.
To me dance is all about passion and releasing that burning passion within the dancer.
I love that anything goes with mixed media so I added pearls to her hair and bodice and
the roses, from Stampin Up, for her strap.
For the skirt I used modeling paste which gives it a nice 3 dimensional feel.
This was seriously so hard for me to do, the process pushed me past my limits for sure.
It is much easier to paint abstract, when you paint people they have to look real.
Thanks for stopping by, I loved looking at all the desks from around the world; so cool.
