How God sees us!

     As I was painting this canvas I saw this scripture in a new light!  

      Our son has been going through a dark place doing dark things

but as I was painting,

I thought,

God you see my boy as beautiful and with no flaws, wow!!!

Somehow we think if we are doing everything right,

 then this scripture is true!

 no!

It is true, no matter what, whether we are living right or not! 

 So as I painted,

I thanked the Lord,

for how beautiful my kids are!

I thanked God that he made them without flaw!

 I love how the spirit of God can shift your thinking!

Watercolors and faces!

It has been sooo long since I posted last.  I have been so tired, that I have only been managing the daily needs of my family and if I did have the energy to make cards I didn't have enough energy to blog about it.  Hopefully I am coming out of my slump.  I have been playing with my watercolor crayons and watercolor paper, so fun!  I don't know what I will do with them but everything doesn't have to have a purpose.  I just simply feel better when I create, it is like I am connecting with my inner spirit man.

This is the first girl I did, not very realistic but I didn't want her to be.

I painted this girl on a bible page, Is. 40, I put gesso where I wanted to watercolor. 

At my ladies prayer group we were praying about how we seem to make everything harder than it needs to be and that if we just spend time with Jesus, He lifts us up on wings of eagles high above all our worries.

I really need to do this more!!!

I taped this picture to the inside of my prayer journal, as a reminder!

My last girl!  I really like her, she looks a bit like me with the streaks of gray, my eyes aren't as cool though!

 

 

More Christmas cards!

On my last post I said I was done making Christmas cards but really I am never done until Christmas is over! So here is a couple of cards out of the 15 I've done, since I said I was done.

I made 9 more of these cards, simply because they are so quick and easy!!



Painted nativity scene!

After painting the snowmen, I started to think about what else I could paint on a glass ornament.

I took a silver glass ball and painted the background, then painted the black details!

After your paint has dried, it is important to seal the ornament with a sealer!

 

To protect the ornament from breaking I created this box.

I cut the bottom CS 9X9 scoring it at 3" and 6" on both sides.

The top is cut at 5 1/8 X 5 1/8 Scored at 1" on all sides.

You need to cut along the score line on two sides to the centre.

I hope that makes sense, I should of taken pictures!

 



Cute little snowmen ornaments!

I have been on a snowman painted spree!

The little guys are so cute.

I was painting on paper and thought, these would be nice as an ornament.

Then I thought what wonderful little gifts for my friends!

I wanted to create a box that would keep the ornaments safe from breaking.

I cut a piece of cardstock 9X9, I scored the cardstock at 3" and 6" for the bottom.

I cut the cardstock at  51/8X51/8 for the top, because I wanted the top to be slightly bigger, I scored the CS all the way around at 1"

If you have questions about the box just ask and I will give better directions.

 



Christmas Card #4

For the background I cut out a snowflake and used it as a stencil, the background is white paste with glitter sprinkled on before it dried!

I also used the Expression thinlits die and an old snowflake die.

More hand painted snowmen!

I think I am addicted to painting these snowmen!

These are the last for today, I have so many other things I should be doing!

For this card I did everything the same as the previous posts with the exception of the hat.

I hand drew the hat then cut it out, I cut a slit and then put the top of the snowman's head in the hole.

I also hand painted the snowflakes but the saying is a stamp from Stampin Up.

 

 

And here is another tag, she is kind of funny looking but she makes me laugh when I look at her.

 



Cute Hand Painted Snowman Tags!

Here are the tags I promised!

I painted with the same materials as in my previous post.

I love my White ink it shows up amazingly on the black card stock!

I hate how the white get pens always stop and start.

Now I can't wait to wrap some presents!

 



Hand painted snowman cards

I had a brilliant idea this morning, paint snowman, okay maybe not brilliant

 but I sure do love how they turned out.

In the summer I ordered some high pigment ink in white and black,

and this is my first time trying them out.

Normally I take black paint and add water but it often looks watered down.

 

Isn't he cute!  I also made some tags which I will show later!

 

Like I said earlier, I painted the face with black high pigment ink called, pro black and pro white by Daler Brown.

For the nose I used my Faber Castell Pitt pen, this was also my first time trying out this product.

I bought the markers because they are a blend able permanent ink. 

I wanted to be able to use my markers with mixed media and not be worried about them bleeding and this worked great!

I just used the white ink for shading!

Birthday X 7!

In the last week I have had 7 birthdays, wow!

Each of the ladies belong to the prayer group that I go to each week.

These ladies are beautiful woman and I really wanted to make nice cards for them.

Each lady has inspired me to grow closer to Jesus and trust Him more and more each day!

Here are a few of the cards I made.

I love using straight pins with beads on my cards, I love the dimension that it brings!

I actually curled my ribbon with a curling iron, never done that before, with all the other dimension the straight ribbon didn't look right!

The Flower is made by spraying it with water and then scrunching it up, I am always amazed at how once it dries it is firm and doesn't flatten.

For this card I tried doing a bit of mixed media.

I first of all ripped some patterned paper then glued it down to the card stock then covered that with Gesso.

This card is fairly basic, just added a bit of Gesso and some doodling here and there.

 



Altered kids book!

For my Grandson's 2nd birthday I wanted to make him a book of our farm, he's favorite place to be!

I went to the thrift shop and bought 2 children's hard cover books.

I cut out every other pages, you have to be careful not to cut it to close to the spine, I did that with the first book and the book didn't hold its shape.

The first thing I did was cover the pages with Gesso, let the Gesso dry, or it won't stick.

I then covered the pages with Designer paper, picture and then letters.

I kept the pages very simple.

I used washi tape down the spine of each page, even though it is sticky and I covered it with mod podge, I also used sticky strip under the washi tape, just to make sure that the little 2 year old fingers didn't take it apart.

 

 

 

The chickens are his favorite of all the animals, not sure why.

Every time we facetime him, he wants to know where the bok boks are!

There are a few more pages but I think that is enough pictures for one post.

 Here is the birthday boy with his gift, apparently he slept with it tucked under his arm.

His birthday theme was Trains so I did a train card!

Here is my little cutie that fills me with so much joy!

 

 

WOYWW #207

 I didn't think I would be able to join WOYWW but I managed to find some time to create this afternoon.  I think this is the latest I have ever join, I will probably have the last spot but as my Mom always said last is first so it all works, lol!

Here is my desk/table, I got out lots of supplies today, Gesso, stamps, makers, beautiful butterflies embossing folder, gems, pearls, ribbon, ribbon punch, stencils, ink spray and more.

 

 

 

Here are the cards I made!

First of all I painted Gesso on the Patterned Paper, then sprayed it with a ink spray and stencil.

After I dried the Gesso and ink I stamped the flower and colored it with a Rich Razzleberry marker

Because the Gesso kept the ink wet longer, I was able to use a blender pen and lighten around the edges.  After the ink dried I smeared Gesso on the card, note to self, SU markers are not waterproof and the purple did smear some when I added the Gesso.

Just can't leave it alone!

I just couldn't leave this card alone, I didn't hate it but I didn't like it enough to give to my mother-in-law.  So I tweaked it a little and now I like it enough to give away.  So I trimmed it and distressed the edges, then mounted it on Island indigo, added some gel pen around the edges, some pearls and a rose and that was it; much better!
