Watercolors and faces!

It has been sooo long since I posted last.  I have been so tired, that I have only been managing the daily needs of my family and if I did have the energy to make cards I didn't have enough energy to blog about it.  Hopefully I am coming out of my slump.  I have been playing with my watercolor crayons and watercolor paper, so fun!  I don't know what I will do with them but everything doesn't have to have a purpose.  I just simply feel better when I create, it is like I am connecting with my inner spirit man.

This is the first girl I did, not very realistic but I didn't want her to be.

I painted this girl on a bible page, Is. 40, I put gesso where I wanted to watercolor. 

At my ladies prayer group we were praying about how we seem to make everything harder than it needs to be and that if we just spend time with Jesus, He lifts us up on wings of eagles high above all our worries.

I really need to do this more!!!

I taped this picture to the inside of my prayer journal, as a reminder!

My last girl!  I really like her, she looks a bit like me with the streaks of gray, my eyes aren't as cool though!

 

 

Awaken the Dawn!

I haven't ever done this kind of card before.

It is my friends birthday in a couple of days and this is the scripture the Lord gave me for her

and I thought I would give the watercolors a try.

Normally I use the watercolors to color in a stamped image, so this is new.

It is a very simplistic watercolor which is what I wanted.

I really wanted the words to stand out.

For this card I used Watercolor paper and SU's watercolor crayons.

I did the lettering with Black paint and a script liner brush.

You need to seal watercolors with a good spray sealer, I use Kraylon matte finish.

I love the end result of this technique, it's a simple way to release some creativity! 



Stamp sets: Pursuit of happiness, Inspired by nature

Cardstock: Very vanilla, watercolor paper

acessories: Watercolor crayons, tangerine tango button, lace ribbon

you take and color right on the stamp with the watercolor crayons, colors of your choosing, for this card I used, old olive, tangerine tango, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie.  After you have colored the whole stamp, take a water bottle and spritz the stamp, until the colors start to blend, then stamp on your watercolor paper.
