WOYWW #225

I am back, it has been a long time since I joined WOYWW, actually it has been a long time since I have had anything on my desk.
I have been so busy with the yard and garden that I haven't had time for any craftiness.
I have discovered however that I love gardening, who knew!
I had a bunch of birthdays come up this week and it happened to coincide with Wed. so here is my desk.
If you want to see the cards close up scroll down to my previous post.
When you haven't crafted for awhile it sure takes longer to get the creative juices flowing!

Birthday X 7!

In the last week I have had 7 birthdays, wow!
Each of the ladies belong to the prayer group that I go to each week.
These ladies are beautiful woman and I really wanted to make nice cards for them.
Each lady has inspired me to grow closer to Jesus and trust Him more and more each day!
Here are a few of the cards I made.
I love using straight pins with beads on my cards, I love the dimension that it brings!
I actually curled my ribbon with a curling iron, never done that before, with all the other dimension the straight ribbon didn't look right!
The Flower is made by spraying it with water and then scrunching it up, I am always amazed at how once it dries it is firm and doesn't flatten.
For this card I tried doing a bit of mixed media.
I first of all ripped some patterned paper then glued it down to the card stock then covered that with Gesso.
This card is fairly basic, just added a bit of Gesso and some doodling here and there.

Fall has arrived!

Fall has arrived and with it more time to craft.  I didn't realize how consuming living on an acreage would be, I love it but there is seriously no extra time for crafting.  This morning there was frost on the ground, thankfully I brought in the tomatoes yesterday.  I also made three cards which hasn't happened for months; it was hard to get my creative juices flowing!
For these cards I used Photo paper and embossed the background with clear embossing powder.  I then sprayed the paper with ink sprays made up of Stampin Up's ink refills and rubbing alcohol. I used Tempting Turquoise, old olive and daffodil delight. On the card below I used crystal effects to make water drops.
It's hard to tell from these pictures but the finally effect looks like a photo because I used photo paper.  Do not make your ink sprays with water, water doesn't react well with photo paper.
